THE MAN OF MY DREAMS
2010-07-26 @ 00:28:46
Today was a day like most days, except one particular thing; a guy. When I got on the subway today I sat down beside two retro guys, nice lookin' outfits, cute. One of them were more than cute, he was almost perfect in my eyes. he had a very rare style; a gray fedora, shoulder-length dark-blond hair, a small mustache, gorgeously tanned, a worn-out tight jeans jacket, a thin black and white striped men's tank top, worn-out tight black jeans (I think), colored tattoos on his arms and a ring on his index finger (which he kept playing with all the time). I didn't get a good look from his waist down because I kept looking at his wonderful face, and I didn't want to stare of course :) He looked like he could have fit in with The Stones during the late 60's. Gorgeous, wonderful man. Me and Cris are hopefully goin out next weekend to see if we might spot him somewhere around the retro places in the south, and to have a good time of course (; Long time since, gonna be fun!
So if you're out there, say hello will ya! A woman is going mad for your good looks ♥

STUCK ON YOU #1
2010-07-25 @ 00:28:21You know when you've heard a song, you might not even like it (but deep down you do, you know you do), it get's stuck. I usually sing the same lines over and over, and it's the same lines. And then I move on to the next song and kill everyone around me like a repeated tape. Well, right now I have this line in my head from Jumpin' Jack Flash by The Stones (of course), and I even do the Jagger-head swing and his groovy moves that goes along with it:
" I was born in a cross-fire hurricane. "
ENGLISH CINEMA
2010-07-25 @ 00:09:40Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Son of Rambow are two of my favorite films. There's something about English cinema that I truly admire and love. These two films just draws the eye, whether you want it or not.
LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS (1998)
SON OF RAMBOW (2007)
Four Jack-the-lads find themselves heavily - seriously heavily - in debt to an East End hard man and his enforcers after a crooked card game. Overhearing their neighbors in the next flat plotting to hold up a group of out-of-their-depth drug growers, our heroes decide to stitch up the robbers in turn. In a way the confusion really starts when a pair of antique double-barreled shotguns go missing in a completely different scam.
This film reminds me a bit of "Snatch" but I think this one's even better. The lines, the footage, the music. Excellence!
SON OF RAMBOW (2007)
SON OF RAMBOW is the name of the home movie made by two little boys with a big video camera and even bigger ambitions. Set on a long English summer in the early 80's, SON OF RAMBOW is a comedy about friendship, faith and the tough business of growing up. We see the story through the eyes of Will, the eldest son of a fatherless Plymouth Brethren family. The Brethren regard themselves as God's 'chosen ones' and their strict moral code means that Will has never been allowed to mix with the other 'worldlies,' listen to music or watch TV, until he finds himself caught up in the extraordinary world of Lee Carter, the school terror and maker of bizarre home movies. Carter exposes Will to a pirate copy of Rambo: First Blood and from that moment Will's mind is blown wide open and he's easily convinced to be the stuntman in Lee Carters' diabolical home movie. Will's imaginative little brain is not only given chance to flourish in the world of film making, but is also very handy when it comes to dreaming up elaborate schemes to keep his partnership with Lee Carter a secret from the Brethren community. Will and Carter's complete disregard for consequences and innocent ambition means that the process of making their film is a glorious roller coaster that eventually leads to true friendship. They start to make a name for themselves at school as movie makers but when popularity descends on them in the form of the Pied Piper-esque French exchange student, Didier Revol, their unique friendship and their precious film are pushed, quite literally, to breaking point.
A fantastic film, great little actors, love the language, amazing footage. This is a wonderful family film and you can watch it over and over again without getting bored.

DINNER WITH MARLON BRANDO
2010-07-24 @ 22:45:12I just came off the phone with my uncle Håkan. We talked for over an hour and the major topic was about my trip to L.A. My uncle's been doing mostly documentaries, just like I want to do, so he will be a major support during these two years. He's also worked as a photographer; he's got stacks of photos of the Swedish Royal family back in the early 80's I think, great black and whites of for example Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.
In 1979 he went to Hollywood and stayed there for over two months to make a film and you know what he tells me: "I even had dinner with Marlon Brando once". Haha, talk about good luck! There was this actress he hung out with who knew the biggest names, took him to the hottest spots and the hottest parties where drugs were easier to get a hold of than a regular coke (and I mean coca-cola). I asked him to dig into his stacks with photos to see if he can get a hold of some pics from that time, so that I might put some up here, maybe :) Hopefully.
Anyway, he's coming over for and early dinner tomorrow and we have loads left to talk about, can't wait :D !

NEW MISSION
2010-07-24 @ 12:51:26Alright so since I have a tendency to always learn something new I have decided to take on a new mission, starting today. I'm about to learn how to play the harmonica. Since I hear it all the time now days in my newly found music taste (blues rock) I figured I'd learn how to play it. And then I might take on the guitarr playing as well.
We'll see how it goes, wish me luck!

"SHINE A LIGHT"
2010-07-22 @ 23:42:59Here's one of my favourites by the Stones. Unfortunately there aren't many videos of the group in the early days so you're gonna have to settle with this, but it's just as good :) Enjoy
The Rolling Stones with "Shine A Light"
YEAH BABY
2010-07-22 @ 09:50:57My I-20 has been sent from Los Angeles California today, and that means that I will have it in time for my appointment at the American embassy in three weeks and THAT means that I will get my Visa and will move to L.A. as planned in the middle of September. Yeah BABY!
OLD GODS ALMOST DEAD
2010-07-22 @ 00:12:53Okay so I turned the last page of Eric Clapton's autobiography today. It's been a really nice journey, but now I'm on to the next adventure; Old Gods Almost Dead: 40 Year Odyssey Of the Rolling Stones by Stephen Davis. Another one of my favorites; a biography. 624 pages with really small text. The only book I read that was that long was Michael Jackson: The Magic and the Madness by J. Randy Taraborelli (I can really recommend it) which I've read three times. Most auto/biographies are quite long, I like to think that they're better it they're long. How are you going to fit in even half of the lives otherwise?
We'll see for how long it'll keep my interest. Hopefully all the way :)
